3 matous

I finally finished the second part of my cats drawings. I'm not very happy with them but they're done and I can think about something else... I rather like the kitten, though. I found the photos of the kitten and the white cat in a book called "Chats insolites", by Anne Camberlain.

This is Mia, my cat, in her usual active position. I was quite happy with the drawing I managed to do of her before she moved! Of course I forgot to scan it and I'm not as happy with the color part...

This is Mia again. She's a nice cat. Lovely and a bit skittish but she can be affectionate sometimes.

I'm not drawing very often these days and that's not good... I need to do something about it - preferably something fun!

These are all terrific! And I especially like seeing the entire page spread with all the kitties.

What an amazing little series you have going on here...Are you by any chance drawing these in a Japanese fold sketchbook? Just wonderful!

I love cats, and the love the way you captured them so beautifully. Very good, very vibrant.

These are wonderful. How fun and creative! I haven't been doing much drawing either, so thanks for making me feel better that I'm not the only one.

Your cat paintings are so cute. They look wonderful on the accordion book too.

If you are looking for something to encourage you to draw besides the challenges go to Nina's blog as she has posted a different sort of challenge. I am trying it as it takes less drawing to do but keeps you working at it. Check it out.

Thank you all! It's a warm feeling reading your comments! I'm not using a japanese book, I cut some large sheets of heavy watercolor paper and folded it - I never find sketchbooks that I like, got to learn to make mine someday... Freebird thanks for the link, I love the idea! (and Nina's blog too)

Why do you think you are not happy with them? How would they have to turn out for you to be happy? I'm curious because it seems like so many creative people are highly critical of their work (including me!). Maybe the happiness lies in the fact that you accomplished a project, that you did what you set out to do, that the results 'happened' and here they stand. You created beauty and that's enough to put a smile on the face!

These are all great. The best part is seeing them all together on the folded page. They are so cohesive and seem to reinforce each other that way.

Thanks again for the comments! Mark, you're right! It's just that I wanted them a little better - I like them but I see all the mistakes I made and how I wanted it to be - but sometimes I'm surprised by the results in a good way, too!

Hello Kazumi(wannabe),
I love your cat-accordion sketches. I discovered your blog this morning and like to start at the beginning. Enjoy your sketches of book covers.
